La llegada de la activista sueca Greta Thunberg a Lisboa, prevista para el martes, ha desatado la expectación en la capital lusa, donde su recorrido marítimo se sigue casi en tiempo real y una comisión parlamentaria estudia ir a recibirla al muelle.
“Día 18. ¡Aceleramos hacia Europa! El tiempo estimado de llegada ahora mismo es la mañana del martes. Llegaremos al muelle de Alcántara, Lisboa. ¡Estamos deseando veros allí!”, escribió en Instagram la adolescente, que cruza el Océano Atlántico en catamarán para llegar a la cumbre del clima de Madrid, que arranca el lunes.
El mensaje, lanzado al filo de la medianoche portuguesa, ha desatado la expectación de la prensa y políticos del país, que la esperan desde hace días y se preparaban para verla en algún momento de la próxima semana.
La fecha no estaba definida por las complicadas condiciones meteorológicas que ha afrontado Thunberg, de 16 años, a bordo del catamarán -rehúsa usar el avión por sus emisiones contaminantes-, y que han trastocado los plazos previstos.
La estimación actual es que pase en Lisboa apenas 24 horas, por lo que algunos planes iniciales, como su visita al Parlamento portugués antes de poner rumbo a Madrid para participar en la cumbre del clima, están prácticamente anulados, un contratiempo que no ha frenado a los diputados.
La idea alternativa es ir a recibirla al muelle, según ha dicho al diario luso Público el presidente de la comisión parlamentaria de Ambiente, Energía y Ordenamiento del Territorio,José Maria Cardoso, quien confirmó que lanzará esa propuesta al grupo.
Se unirían así al alcalde de Lisboa, el socialista Fernando Medina, que acudirá al muelle para saludarla antes de que, previsiblemente, la joven dirija unas palabras a la prensa tras desembarcar.
Si viaja en tren tardaría entre 10 y 13 horas, dado que no existe en Portugal la alta velocidad entre ambos países
Mientras tanto, en los medios de comunicación lusos, que siguen el recorrido del catamarán, patroneado por una pareja de australianos, se especula con el medio de transporte que elegirá Thunberg para desplazarse de Lisboa a Madrid.
La opción más repetida es el tren, lo que ha generado comentarios en redes sociales por el largo tiempo que demoraría en llegar a la capital española con las opciones existentes, entre 10 y 13 horas, dado que no existe en Portugal la alta velocidad entre ambos países.
Esta demora podría evitarse si eligiese el coche eléctrico, una opción ofrecida por la Consejería de Transición Ecológica y Sostenibilidad de la Junta de Extremadura, aunque por el momento se desconoce cómo se moverá Thunberg.
