El papa Francisco pide ser "pobres por dentro" en vez de buscar riqueza y fama
El pontífice ha defendido que quien es consciente de su pobreza "permanece abierto a dios" y "halla la alegría".
El papa Francisco ha animado este lunes a las sociedades a tratar de ser pobres por dentro y preocuparse por el prójimo, en lugar de buscar continuamente la riqueza, la fama y el éxito.
“El mundo, de hecho, dice que para ser feliz tienes que ser rico, poderoso, siempre joven y fuerte, tener fama y éxito”, ha lamentado Francisco tras el rezo del Ángelus el mismo día en el que se celebra la festividad de Todos los Santos.
“La verdadera plenitud de vida se alcanza” siendo “pobres por dentro”, a juicio del papa Francisco. “Quien se cree rico, exitoso y seguro, lo basa todo en sí mismo y se cierra a Dios y a sus hermanos, mientras quien es consciente de ser pobre y de no bastarse a sí mismo permanece abierto a Dios y al prójimo. Y halla la alegría”, ha añadido.
El pontífice defendió el “hacerse pequeño” en lugar de “destacar sobre los demás; ser manso, en vez de tratar de imponerse; practicar la misericordia, antes que pensar solo en sí mismo; trabajar por la justicia y por la paz, en vez de alimentar, incluso con la connivencia, injusticias y desigualdades”.
Por otro lado, el papa ha reclamado la “alegría” como el poder para “afrontar cada situación bajo la mirada amorosa de Dios”. “Sin ella, la fe se convierte en un ejercicio opresivo, que lleva a la tristeza. ¿Somos cristianos alegres o personas con cara de funeral? ¡No hay santidad sin alegría!”, ha exclamado.
Misa en cementerio militar
El papa celebrará este martes una misa en el cementerio francés de Roma que rinde homenaje a los soldados que lucharon contra el régimen nazi durante la Campaña de Italia, entre noviembre de 1943 y julio de 1944.
El cementerio francés de Roma conserva las tumbas del Cuerpo Expedicionario Francés en Italia (CEFI), un grupo de cuatro divisiones militares dirigidas por el general Alphonse Juin, que se distinguió especialmente durante la batalla de Monte Cassino en mayo de 1944.
No es la primera vez que Francisco decide visitar en esta fecha un cementerio militar: en 2017, visitó el cementerio americano de Nettuno y en 2014, el de Redipuglia, con motivo del centenario del estallido de la Primera Guerra Mundial.
