Una guardería de EEUU da de comer antes a los niños blancos que a los negros
Un padre afroamericano vio lo que pasaba a través de la webcam instalada en el centro y lo denunció en las redes sociales.
Es una imagen perturbadora, indignante, imposible de entender en pleno siglo XXI: la de una guardería de EEUU en la que se da de comer antes a los niños blancos que a los negros. Unos toman su almuerzo y otros miran. Un padre afroamericano, atónito, ha hecho el descubrimiento y lo ha denunciado en las redes sociales, con un impacto mundial.
El usuario de Instagram Marquis_Dagreat ha colgado una foto en la que se aprecia a los menores sentados en sus mesitas a la hora de la comida. Están mezclados, negros y blancos, en las distintas mesas, pero son los segundos los que reciben sus platos en primer lugar, mientras los demás esperan. Un “auténtico acto racista”, denuncia.
La guardería en cuestión se llama Kids R Kids y se encuentra en Roswell, Georgia. Un centro muy recomendado, con altas notas de los usuarios, que entre sus servicios ofrece una retransmisión en vivo, vía webcam, de lo que pasa en sus instalaciones. Así los padres pueden ver lo que hacen, lo que genera en principio más seguridad... salvo cuando se descubre que algo falla.
A este padre le llamó la atención una de las transmisiones, en la que se veía que en el comedor había niños de raza blanca con los platos servidos y los demás, nada. “Parecía que se estaban saltando a todos los niños negros… Todos los blancos almorzaron y todos los afroamericanos negros tuvieron que esperar. Por los vídeos y las fotos que vimos hoy, estamos completamente perturbados”, fue lo que declaró el padre de familia, Adryan McCauley, en entrevista para CBS46.
Después de ver la grabación, McCauley contactó a su esposa para contarle lo sucedido y de inmediato, fue a recoger a su pequeño y notificó al director de la guardería lo ocurrido. El director le indicó que desconocía por completo lo que había ocurrido, que no sabía las cosas exactas que pasaban dentro de cada clase, y argumentando que quizá se debió a “una cuestión dietética”.
Ante la respuesta del responsable, los McCauley se decidieron a denunciar el hecho en Instagram, tras capturar la imagen. “¿Por qué todos los niños blancos tienen su comida? ¡Ningún niño afroamericano tiene comida frente a ellos! ¡Gracias a Dios por las cámaras en las aulas porque no hay forma de ocultar este acto de racismo!”, escribieron en su post.
“En el año 2021 esto es realmente increíble. Como afroamericanos, siempre nos esforzamos por enviar a nuestros hijos a escuelas en áreas suburbanas, pero les digo de primera mano que no siempre es lo mejor. Este no es un problema de blanco o negro, simplemente está mal”, ahondan.
Kids R Kids, un grupo que tiene varias guarderías en distintas ciudades de Estados Unidos, indicó en su página web que lo único que desean es que los niños estén bien bajo su cuidado. Además, el presidente y director ejecutivo del grupo, David Vinson, indicó que rescindirán el “contrato y marca” con la sucursal de Roswell “con efecto inmediato”. Disculpas tras una polémica que demuestra todo lo que queda por hacer en materia de igualdad.
Dee Gillespie, propietaria del jardín de infancia, ha defendido las acciones de sus colegas, en un comunicado compartido con el Daily Mail.
“Sabemos que este acto fue al azar y que la foto no muestra toda la habitación”, dijo.“Creemos que si los padres vieran los videos entenderían (...). Ojalá pudieran ver la compasión que tenemos”.
