El papa permanecerá ingresado "unos días más" tras su operación de colon
La decisión ha sido tomada para "optimizar la mejor terapia médica y de rehabilitación".
El papa Francisco “permanecerá hospitalizado unos días más” para “optimizar mejor la terapia médica y de rehabilitación”, según ha informado este lunes la Oficina de Prensa de la Santa Sede en un comunicado. El director de prensa de este organismo, Matteo Bruni, ha señalado en el escrito que el papa ya ha completado el postoperatorio.
El pontífice, de 84 años, fue operado el pasado día 4 del colon, por “una estenosis diverticular grave con signos de diverticulitis esclerosante” en la que se le extrajo una parte del órgano y que requirió anestesia general, aunque evoluciona favorablemente.
El domingo reapareció desde el balcón del hospital Gemelli de Roma, en el que está ingresado, para rezar el Ángelus y pedir un sistema sanitario de calidad accesible y “gratuito” para todos.
Por otra parte, Bruni ha indicado este lunes que antes del Ángelus el pontífice visitó a pacientes jóvenes de oncología y algunos le acompañaron después al balcón, con motivo de la oración mariana.
Cuando terminó el rezo conversó con pacientes hospitalizados y personal sanitario de su planta, la décima, y, por la tarde, celebró la Santa Misa en la capilla privada con el personal que lo atiende diariamente.
La importancia del deporte
Francisco también ha hablado en las últimas horas con personas cercanas a las selecciones de Argentina e Italia, que han ganado la Copa América y la Eurocopa respectivamente.
Además, ha destacado la importancia del deporte y sus valores, así como la “capacidad deportiva para poder aceptar cualquier resultado”, incluso la derrota: “Sólo así, ante las dificultades de la vida, podemos implicarnos siempre, luchando sin rendirse, con esperanza y confianza”, ha dicho.
Los boletines médicos que la Santa Sede ha divulgado cada día en la última semana aseguran que el papa evoluciona según lo previsto y sigue con el tratamiento prescrito, aunque en la tarde del miércoles tuvo unas décimas de fiebre que ya han remitido.
