El grupo municipal de Vox no participará este lunes en el acto institucional que organiza el Ayuntamiento de Madrid para conmemorar la semana del Orgullo LGTBI, según fuentes de la formación ultraderechista que lidera Javier Ortega Smith en el Consistorio.
Ha sido el parque de El Retiro el enclave elegido para esta celebración, a la que se ha invitado a los cinco grupos municipales (PP, Cs, Más Madrid, PSOE y Vox). En el acto, los grupos recordarán, desde la unidad, los avances por la igualdad y la libertad de la ciudad y apoyarán la diversidad de Madrid representada en cada una de las personas que forman parte del colectivo LGTBI.
Fue Vox quien el año pasado se negó a que la bandera arcoíris ondeara en la facha del Palacio de Cibeles para conmemorar esta semana. Se trataba de la primera celebración del Orgullo con José Luis Martínez-Almeida como alcalde de la capital.
De hecho, Almeida y Ortega Smith mantuvieron un rifirrafe ante los medios por el intento de boicot de la formación ultraderechista, que sostiene al Gobierno popular en la capital, al acto institucional del Consistorio.
Finalmente la colocación de esta enseña se realizó con polémica, pues se situó en el lateral izquierdo de la fachada, y no el centro como había sido tradición. El acto en el que se colocó no contó ni con la presencia de asociaciones LGTBI ni con la de la oposición.
Se aseguró entonces que la bandera se situaba en el lateral al atender a criterios de Patrimonio para no dañar la fachada recientemente restaurada. El día antes se había colocado una bandera de España en este mismo lugar. Muchos vieron en este gesto una ‘cesión’ a los requerimientos de Vox.
No es la primera vez que Vox se desmarca de una posición unánime entre los grupos. Impidió que Cibeles aprobase una declaración institucional contra la violencia machista, el 25-N. Ya lo había hecho con la declaración por el Día de la Mujer, el 8 de marzo, cuando impidió que el Pleno alumbrase una declaración institucional con motivo de este día.
